Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will field Ryan Hunter-Reay in the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500, the team confirmed March 15.
Hunter-Reay will pilot the No. 23 Chevy for DRR. The 42-year-old won the Greatest Spectacle in Racing in 2014.

I feel laser-focused and energized. The Indy 500 isn’t just a motor race, for me; it’s a way of life.
“I was incredibly attracted to the fact that DRR is a streamlined program that puts all of its energy into the month of May. I guess you can say I’m going back to my roots, considering how I started my IndyCar career with smaller teams that took the fight to the bigger efforts and won. If you look at DRR’s record at Indy and its impressive recent results, the pool of talented engineers and crew, it’s a perfect fit.”
Hunter-Reay will be teammates with Stefan Wilson, who was his teammate at Andretti in 2018 and 2021.
The 2012 NTT IndyCar Series champion will attempt his first race since departing Andretti Autosport after the 2021 season. He has 16 wins and 44 podium finishes in 239 starts in the series.
The Indy 500 is set to air on May 28 at 11 a.m. ET on NBC.
