Nova Motorsport has been named as the exclusive tyre supplier for the British Hillclimb Championship, marking the company’s third contract announcement after it acquired all Avon assets.
Nova has signed a five-year agreement with Motorsport UK for tyre supply and title sponsorship rights to the BHC. It follows on from several decades of Avon involvement in the national hillclimbing scene.
The newly-formed company, which is owned by SPC Rubber, this year took over Avon’s brand licence, range and residual tyre stock after Avon was sold by its former proprietor, Goodyear subsidiary Cooper Tire.
Nova is working with Birmingham-based BMTR which will assist with the supply and service of the tyres that will be used in the BHC. The 30-round season kicks off at Prescott on 20-21 April.

The BHC deal is the latest announcement from Nova as it sets out its initial motorsport supply contracts. In recent weeks, it was confirmed as the exclusive tyre supplier for the Sweden-based RallyX competition which is staging six rounds in five European countries.
That five-year agreement will see RallyX cars continue to use the Avon ACB11 tyre, which previously featured in the FIA World Rallycross Championship until the series switched to American company Hoosier this year.
Additionally, Nova has penned a deal with historic racing promoter Peter Auto to supply its racing series for Group C and other sports prototypes in the 2.0-litre Cup and Classic Endurance 1 & 2 classes.
French tyre dealer Sodipneu will support Nova’s provision of tyres to those grids.
