Don’t Miss The Southern No Time Nationals $100K Bear Hunt

Southern No Time Nationals

Each year, Jacob Harper of Big Jake Promotions holds some of the biggest No Time (N/T) drag racing events in the country. This September 6th and 7th, Harper will once again host the Southern No Time Nationals presented by Callies Performance and Energy Manufacturing. The race is taking place at Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas, and with over $150,000 up for grabs.

The premiere class of the event is an invitational shootout known as Bear Sh*t 28/275. The rules are as simple as they can get. The class is open to any No Time car that shows up on either a 28-inch diameter slick or a 275 radial. The types of vehicles that show up will vary from Radial vs The World cars and Pro Mods, to race cars that retain the factory roof and quarter panels. Engine combinations are just as diverse as the cars themselves. There will be ProChargers, screw and roots blowers, lots of nitrous, and turbochargers assisting small-blocks, big-blocks, mountain motors, and Hemis. The winner of this colossal battle will receive $100,000, so it’s all but guaranteed the quickest and fastest cars from around the country will be at XRP in September for the Southern No Time Nationals to knock off all the other bears.

According to Jake, there are close to 50 racers already entered for the Bear Sh*t 28/275 invitational shootout. Among the bears already locked in for the event are Fletcher Cox, Randall Segrest, Shawn Wilhoit, Troy Mullenberg, Harry Crane, Mark and Eric Moore, Jamie “Triggaman” Hawes, Jay Boddie and Jay Boddie Jr., Tony “Boss” Bynes, Jeff Miller and Bill Lutz, Ty and Scotty Kruck, David Brinkley, Chino Ho, Russel Stone.

In addition to the main event, there will be a Bear Sh*t ASAG (All Steel All Glass) invitational shootout. This class is for No Time cars only that meet the All Steel All Glass requirements. Here, you will see factory-appearing race cars on 28-inch diameter slicks or 275 radial tires competing for $45,000. Other shootouts taking place during the Southern No Time Nationals are an anything-goes-on 28s or 275s class and an ASAG class. Both of these shootouts are free to enter, and each has a $10,000 purse. Last but not least is the Outlaw Street class, which is also free to enter and offers a $5,000 prize to the winner.
