William Sawalich Starting 1st in ARCA Race at Salem

For the 11th time in his ARCA Menards Series career, William Sawalich has won the pole.

He did so on Saturday (July 27) at Salem Speedway after posting the fastest time during practice.

Sawalich won the pole, his fifth of the season, by 0.247 seconds over Lavar Scott. Scott is competing at Salem for the first time in his career.

Venturini Motorsports teammates Jake Finch and Toni Breidinger comprise row two in third and fourth, respectively.

Debutant Corey Day starts fifth in the No. 28 Pinnacle Racing Group Chevrolet.

Fellow VMS driver Kris Wright starts sixth followed by points leader Andres Perez in seventh. All Venturini drivers will start inside the top 10 with Amber Balcaen in eighth and Gus Dean in ninth. Will Kimmel rounds out the top 10 starters in 10th.

With 25 drivers entered, all will compete in the 200-lap race on Saturday night.

The action at Salem begins at 8 p.m. ET with live coverage provided by FOX Sports 1 and FloRacing.
