The ARCA Menards Series heads to Elko, Minn., this Saturday (August 3) for the 12th event of the season, the Shore Lunch 250 from Elko Speedway. With no former winners on the entry list, a new face is guaranteed to grace victory lane for the first time at the track.

After last weekend’s event at Salem Speedway, Andres Perez now holds a 48-point lead over Rev Racing teammate Lavar Scott. Perez leads all series regulars with an average finish of 5.8 and 10 top 10s.

In his only prior start at Elko, Perez started ninth and finished fifth last year. It will be important for Perez to secure another solid finish this year at Elko if he is to maintain his sizeable points advantage.

While Perez’s teammate and primary championship competitor Scott will be making his first Elko start this weekend, his prospects for a good run this Saturday still look good.

This week at Elko, Venturini’s driver lineup features Sean Hingorani and Isabella Robusto in addition to full-timers Kris Wright, Amber Balcaen and Toni Breidinger.

Hingorani, last year’s ARCA Menards Series West champion, returns to the national tour for the third time this season in search of his third consecutive top-five finish.

Robusto impressed in her sole ARCA national event when she started and finished sixth in a strong field earlier this year at Phoenix Raceway. The relative newcomer to the ARCA ranks has continued to turn heads by contending for several wins in West competition. Robusto is looking to keep up the impressive start to her ARCA career.

As the winner of three of the last four events and four total races on the season, William Sawalich has looked near unstoppable at certain points in this ARCA season. With his only recent rival Connor Zilisch not entered for Elko, Sawalich undoubtedly enters the weekend as the favorite.

With a staggering 652 laps led in only seven starts, Sawalich has been a force to be reckoned with in each of his attempts this season. While he and his Joe Gibbs Racing team try to repeat their recent dominance, the rest of the field will be…
