After much anticipation, NASCAR announced the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series schedule on Aug. 29.
The Cup Series will race 38 times in 2025, with two exhibition events and 36 points-paying races.
It was already announced that the season will open with the Busch Light Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium Feb. 2 and that the NASCAR All-Star race will once again return to North Wilkesboro Speedway May 18.
The biggest addition to the calendar was announced earlier this week, as the Cup Series will be headed south of the border to race in Mexico City at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on June 15.
Mexico City will take the place of the first date at Richmond Raceway, with its lone event now on Aug. 16.
Homestead-Miami Speedway moves out of the playoffs and will instead be run on March 23.
Additions to the 2025 playoffs that are not in the 2024 edition include the return of Darlington Raceway’s Southern 500 to the opening race (Aug. 31), the return of New Hampshire Motor Speedway to the playoffs (Sept. 21) and the first-ever playoff race at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway (Sept. 7).
The regular season will once again kick off with the 67th running of the Daytona 500 (Feb. 16), kicking off FOX’s 14-race stretch that will end with the All-Star Race.
From there, Amazon Prime Video will take over coverage for the first time, beginning its five-race stretch with the 66th Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 25). Its coverage will conclude at Pocono Raceway on June 22.
From there, TNT Sports makes its return to NASCAR coverage, with its first race being the opening round of the new In-Season Tournament at Atlanta Motor Speedway (June 28).
TNT’s five races include every event of the tournament and will end with the tournament champion being crowned at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400 (July 27).
From there, coverage returns to NBC on Aug. 3 as the series returns to Iowa Speedway for the second year in a row. The regular season will once again come to a close at Daytona International Speedway on Aug. 23.
The final round of the NASCAR playoffs see a bit of a shakeup, as Talladega Superspeedway enters the Round of 8, serving as the next-to-last for drivers to lock into the championship round.
Finally, the Cup champion will once again be crowned at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 2.
