Going Fast On Radials With Crew Chief Confidential: Jamie Miller

There is no easy path to success in drag racing, you have to put in the time and work hard if you want to be a champion. Jamie Miller tunes a mind-numbing variety of race cars and continues to build cars at his home shop when he’s not at the track. We got to follow Miller during No Mercy 15 as he worked on Greg Blevins Jr.’s Camaro to see what really goes on when at high-level tuner is calling the shots on a race car.

A professional tuner is like a coach and quarterback mixed into one person. They’re main focus is making the race car go as fast as possible, but they’re also directing crew members, and coming up with a game plan each round. There’s a constant flow of information coming at the tuner that they need to decipher, and then turn into results on the track. It’s not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination.

In our Crew Chief Confidential video, we take you deep into the world of professional tuners with Miller. The situation that Miller faced at No Mercy 15 was full of pressure and the stakes were high. Blevins Jr. and his Limited Drag Radial team were part of the Radial Outlaws Racing Series championship picture. Everything had to go right for them to have a shot, so each decision that Miller made had an impact on the team’s championship dreams.
