Nissan Z Horsepower Achievement by Emelia Hartford

Emelia with Anderson

Emelia Hartford is very famous for high-performance car builds. When Nissan pitched an idea to her about building a high-horsepower drag car, the stage was set for an ambitious project. As such, Emelia aimed to exceed expectations. She worked with her team in Georgia at FuelTech, ready to build a machine to set new standards for the Nissan Z engines.

FuelTech’s Anderson Dick brought a different kind of experience and familiarity to the project. They had competed before with the aim of building the world’s fastest Corvette. Emilia and Anderson kept this rivalry friendly such that both would share tips and ideas despite competing against each other. This provided the backdrop for a joint effort, wherein they joined forces to push the Nissan Z to unprecedented boundaries. Together, they worked on final tweaks and fine-tuning through mutual respect that characterized their shared enthusiasm for speed and precision.

technical adjustments being made by Emelia and her team to reach the new Nissan Z horsepower goals

Building a car to reach record-breaking horsepower required countless hours of meticulous preparation and significant technical adjustments. They fitted Emelia’s Nissan Z with high-performance components, including a nitrous system and CO2 adjustments to accelerate spooling. Initially, the car hit over 1,000 horsepower—impressive but not enough for Emelia. They gradually added dome pressure, changed fuel ratios, and adjusted the timing for optimal power output from the engine. It ensured that performance stayed within safe limits without compromising stability. With such step-by-step work, they finally managed 1,899 wheel horsepower—equivalent to approximately 2,000 crank horsepower.

Throughout the project, Emelia stressed that one needs reliable partners. In this case, the sponsors provided resources needed, which included advanced tuning software and monitoring equipment that made each horsepower increase calculated accurately. Emelia pointed out that the travel sponsors provided affordable data plans so she can stay connected with people internationally; in this case, they smoothed out the logistical process involved in the projects. Such support allowed her to focus completely on technical requirements and know that everything is behind trusted partners.
