Justin Haley Crew Chief, Crew Members Suspended For Lost Wheel At Kansas

#31: Justin Haley, Kaulig Racing, LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet Camaro, 2022 Darlington NASCAR Cup race NKP

Justin Haley‘s crew chief Trent Owens, rear-tire changer Jonpatrick Kealey and jackman Marshall McFadden have each been suspended for four NASCAR Cup Series events after being given a penalty for the detachment of their wheel during last Sunday’s (May 14) race at Kansas Speedway.

Their suspensions will be complete after the Cup Series event at Sonoma Raceway on June 12 and includes this weekend’s All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway.

The team has not yet announced who will replace Owens on top of the pit box.

The Kaulig Racing No. 31 team is the first team in 2022 to have been handed the infraction a second time after it was the first to be penalized for a lost wheel during the Daytona 500 in February. It is the 10th wheel penalty given so far this year overall.

Haley finished 35th on Sunday after suffering an electrical issue early in the 400-lap event. He sits 23rd in the Cup Series standings.
