Alpine team principal Otmar Szafnauer confirmed the team will bring an updated floor to Monaco with them, which they will trial for the next four races.
The team brought several updates to Spain, with new parts for their front and rear wings, as well as aerodynamic updates to the rear corners of the A522.
Alpine are looking to keep improving their car aerodynamically heading into the next stage of the season, with Szafnauer confirming the floor is a particular area of focus for them, but they will still look to bring further upgrades to the car alongside their floor changes.
“At the next race we will have a new floor for about four races. The biggest area of aerodynamic production at the moment is the floor. In between, we will include more things, like a new chassis,” Szafnauer told reporters, as per Soy Motor.

Most teams have already added components to their car since the start of the season, with Haas being the apparent exemptions in wanting to wait longer before making meaningful changes.
The sport’s budget cap is seemingly hitting some teams hard however, with Red Bull team principal Christian Horner believing that up to two-thirds of the grid would have to miss the final four rounds of the season to be able to comply with the cost cap regulations.
Alpine are taking the little and often approach to upgrading the A522 though, as their team boss explained.
“Some teams have strategies and it all depends on the budget limit,” Szafnauer said. “Including all the learning in one upgrade can be cheaper than taking small upgrades to every race.
“For our part, as soon as we discover something new, we design it and take it to the track. Our strategy is not based on accumulating and then designing.”
