Pato O’Ward will continue racing with Arrow McLaren SP in the NTT IndyCar Series through 2025, the team announced on its website May 27.

O’Ward, a 23-year-old driver from Monterrey, Mexico, has been racing full time with the team since 2020. The extension means that he will now be locked in with the team for the next three-and-a-half years.

“The entire team is excited that Pato is on board for the long haul,” team president Taylor Kiel said in a release. “He is an important part of our plan here at Arrow McLaren SP, his energy and work ethic is infectious. Having watched him develop since he joined the team, I look forward to building on these foundations to increase our performance and achieve our common goals in the years to come.”

“I am incredibly happy to have locked in my future with Arrow McLaren SP,” O’Ward said. “This team has truly felt like home for me over the past three years and I can’t wait to build on our success as we compete for wins and championships. I want to thank the whole team for this opportunity. This is exactly where I want to be.”

Since 2020, O’Ward has scored three wins, 10 podiums and four poles in 35 starts, including his third win at Barber Motorsports Park earlier this season. He recorded fourth- and third-place finishes in the championship standings in 2020 and 2021, respectively, and he currently sits seventh in points through five races in 2022.

The 106th Indianpolis 500 will take place on Sunday, May 29. Prerace ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m. ET, and the green flag will fly at 12:45 p.m. ET. TV coverage will be provided by NBC.
