ARCA announced the introduction of the Performance Dirt Seed Double for its pair of dirt track events on June 10.

The new initiative is a bonus program that will award $50,000 to a driver that wins the two races on dirt in the 2022 season.

The series currently visits the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Ill., and the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds in Du Quoin, Ill. Both tracks are 1 mile in distance.

“The two races at Springfield and DuQuoin are the direct connection to the foundation of the sport,” ARCA President Ron Drager said in a release. “There are thousands of race fans in the heartland of the country who attend those races, and many have been coming to them for decades. Having dirt races has kept us connected to the grassroots of the sport and it has meant a driver who can win the ARCA Menards Series championship has to succeed on a wide variety of racetracks.”

In the event that a driver fails to sweep the dirt races this season, a $5,000 bonus will be awarded to the top-performing driver in the two races.

The ARCA Menards Series will head to the Fairgrounds on Aug. 21 and DuQuoin on Sept. 4.

Corey Heim won last year’s race at the former, while Landen Lewis was victorious at the latter.
