Kaden Honeycutt will drive three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races for On Point Motorsports this season, the team announced July 14.

Honeycutt’s schedule will consist of Pocono Raceway on July 23, Richmond Raceway on August 13 and Kansas Speedway on September 9.

According to a team release, the deal also makes the 18-year-old a full time employee for the team, suggesting future racing opportunities could lie ahead for him.

“Words can’t describe how exciting this is not for just me but for my family and supporters that have been involved in my racing career,” Honeycutt said in a team release. “This is what I have wanted to do for my entire life – work for a great team and drive a race car at the same time. I cannot thank Steven “Bones” Lane [team owner and crew chief] and On Point Motorsports [enough] for this opportunity.”

“I’m really looking forward to having Kaden drive for us in Pocono,” Lane added. “I have kept an eye on him for a while and I have been impressed with both his racing style and how he handles himself. He is a great fit for our team, and I think this is a step in the right direction for us as we continue to improve our organization both on and off the track.”

Honeycutt, a Texas native, has already made two starts this season, both with G2G Racing. He finished 34th at Martinsville Speedway and 21st at Nashville Superspeedway.

On Point has had a rotation of drivers this season after originally signing Tate Fogleman to compete full time. Fogleman currently holds the team’s best finish of the year, finishing 12th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The team has also made starts with Josh Bilicki, Joey Gase and Camden Murphy since Fogleman’s last race with the team at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, before skipping Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
