The No. 42 and 43 Cup Series cars have been assessed an L1 penalty for violating Section 14.6.5.E Rocker Box Assemblies.
The teams have been assessed with the loss of 35 driver and owner points, and the crew chiefs for both cars have been ejected for the weekend.

The team announced it will not appeal the ruling.
The L1-level penalty resulted in both crew chiefs ejected from Pocono Raceway as well as points deductions. Both Petty GMS teams lost 35 driver points and 35 owner points.
Both drivers enter Pocono in a must-win territory to make the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. The points deduction drops Jones from 19th to 20th in the standings and Dillon fell two positions to 30th.
Dave Elenz will be replaced by Danny Efland atop the No. 43 pit box and Joey Cohen will serve as Dillon’s crew chief, replacing Jerame Donley.
Dillon qualified 27th and Jones qualified 34th for the Pocono Cup race.
The Cup race at Pocono will take place Sunday at 3 p.m. ET with TV coverage provided by USA Network.
