An engine stall or a loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Summary: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CRF1100 Africa Twin motorcycles equipped with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT). A software error in the engine control unit (ECU), may disconnect the controller area network (CAN) communication and release the clutch, which can result in an engine stall or a loss of drive power.

Remedy: Dealers will update the ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 31, 2022. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda’s number for this recall is KNB.
