Tyler Reddick Grabs 3rd Cup Pole Of 2022 At Las Vegas

Tyler Reddick Wins Grueling, Embarrassing Texas 500-Miler

Tyler Reddick laid down a fast lap of 184.603 mph in qualifying Saturday (Oct. 15) to take the pole for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Reddick nearly hit the wall but didn’t, going on to win his third pole of the year.

His pole comes after the news that he would jump in the No. 45 full time next year. Kurt Busch will not race full time in Cup in 2023.

Austin Cindric joins Reddick on the front row. William Byron starts third ahead of Cindric’s Team Penske teammates Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano, who round out the top five. Blaney was fastest in practice but had a tire coming apart near the end of his run.

Daniel Suarez starts sixth, Christopher Bell was seventh and Harrison Burton tied his highest starting spot of eighth. Bubba Wallace and Austin Dillon complete the top 10.

Four playoff contenders start outside the top 10: Ross Chastain in 11th, Chase Briscoe in 16th, Chase Elliott in 20th and Denny Hamlin back in 31st.

Since just 36 cars made a lap, all drivers made the race.

The South Point 400 airs Sunday (Oct. 16) at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC and the Performance Racing Network.
