Wild Crash From World Sport Compact Challenge

Race cars with short wheelbases and a lot of horsepower on tap can be a handful to drive even when everything is going right. Now, when there’s an issue, a pocket rocket-type of a car is going to do what it wants and the driver is along for the ride.

The wheelman of the Se Joda Racing Toyota Starlet went for a scary ride at Orlando Speed World Dragway and nearly collected his opponent, too.

Orlando Speed World Dragway hosts the World Sport Compact Challenge each year; this event draws some of the quickest and fastest import race teams from around the world. The teams that come to this event all have their cars set on kill to take advantage of the perfect surface Orlando offers.

In this video, the BDH Racing RX7 is lined up against the Se Joda Starlet. The RX7 experiences violent tire shake at the hit — this could have been the best thing that happened to the BDH Racing team in this situation, since it slowed the car down ever so slightly. Just after the 60-foot cone the Se Joad Starlet made a violent move to the right, rolled onto its side, and slid into the RX7’s lane before it made hard contact with the wall roof-first. Thankfully, the driver of the Starlet wasn’t seriously hurt in this scary incident.

Check out the multiple angles from the BDH Racing and PalfiebruTV  YouTube channels that show just how close both cars got.
