As we know, Formula 1 has been able to grow at a rapid rate over the years, with the sport becoming more and more popular with global audiences. More and more fans from all over the world are now tuning in to see the world’s best drivers all compete against each other in the quest to become World Champion.

Indeed, the sport has experienced a notable increase in popularity across the United States, with fans in locations such as Maryland continuing to clamor for a race to be held in their state so they get to see their favorite racers all compete.

However, while Maryland is not a location that F1 will be visiting anytime soon, those in America are set for a treat in the upcoming 2023 season. A third race will be added to the U.S. schedule for the first time in almost 40 years!

Las Vegas set to shine as third U.S. GP race circuit

Indeed, the racing is coming to the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada! Sin City is no stranger to hosting a Grand Prix, with it having held an event between 1981 and 1982. However, it will be only the second time America as a country has ever held three GPs in one year; admittedly, it’s more than any other country ever does.

The race that is set to take place in Las Vegas has been designed to be a street course, with the circuit being a temporary fixture that has been planned to include the Las Vegas Strip. According to plans, the track is expected to consist of a distance of 6.116 km (3.8 miles). With a total of 50 laps thought to be in the pipeline, this would see drivers compete across a distance of 305.775 km (190 miles) as they race past the neon lights and the many incredible and world-renowned landmarks Sin City is known for.

A date is yet to be confirmed for the event, although it is expected to take place around the weekend of November 17-19, 2023. If this race is to be implemented, it would then see the event take place after the Miami GP (May 7) and Austin (October 22).

Fans in Maryland and across the U.S. will then get the chance to be able to go and experience F1 on three different occasions, where they can see the likes of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton go against each other for glory, while also seeing Red Bull Racing and Mercedes clashing…
