Brett Moffitt Running For AM Full Time In Xfinity

Brett Moffitt, NKP

AM Racing will contest the full NASCAR Xfinity Series season in 2023 with Brett Moffitt behind the wheel, AM announced Dec. 12.

Moffitt will drive the No. 25 in AM’s first full-time season in the series.

The team will run Fords, aligning it with Stewart-Haas Racing via a technical partnership.

“This is an integral move for AM Racing and our future in NASCAR,” AM team principal Kevin Cywinski said in a release. “AM Racing is committed to ensuring that we are taking the necessary measures to not only give our team but Brett the opportunity to be competitive from the time we show up to Daytona [International Speedway] in February – which is something this group deserves.”

Added Moffitt, “I am beyond excited about this next chapter in my career,” said Moffitt. “Wade (Moore, president), Kevin and the entire AM Racing team are putting the pieces together to make sure that we not only have a team that can run up front but win races in 2023. I was impressed by the team’s long-term plan and without question, I know that we will be able to accomplish the goals that we have set forth. I look forward to representing AM Racing as driver of the No. 25 Ford Mustang.”

AM plans to continue to field its No. 22 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series program while also expanding to a full-time ARCA Menards Series program.

No other driver announcements have been named for the team aside from Austin Wayne Self, who will remain with the organization with a to-be-announced schedule.

Moffitt started the 2022 season running for Our Motorsports full time in its No. 02, eventually departing after 20 races. In 21 total starts, he scored five top 10s.

He made a pair of Truck starts in 2022, both with AM.
