A winter storm pushing through Southern California produced constant rain, and at one point snow, at Auto Club Speedway, forcing NASCAR to delay the NASCAR Xfinity Series race to the following day.
The Production Alliance Group 300 will now run on Sunday night, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. ET, following the NASCAR Cup Series race. The Xfinity race was originally slated for Saturday (Feb. 25) at 5 p.m. ET.
The weather initially canceled practice and qualifying earlier in the day, putting last week’s winner Austin Hill on the pole position.
There was a break in the weather, and NASCAR attempted to get the cars on the track around 6 p.m. ET. Opening ceremonies were completed and the field ran several pace laps, but the rain returned before the green flag could wave, with the cars ultimately pulling back onto pit road.
The race will be shown on FS2 with the green flag waving shortly after 8 p.m. ET. John Hunter Nemechek will join Hill on the front row.
