Former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean joins Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) for the 2024 IndyCar season, the Argentine-American team announced on Thursday.
Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) signs experienced French driver Romain Grosjean for the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series season, replacing Callum Ilott at the wheel of the No. 77 Dallara-Chevrolet challenger.
“I’ve been closely following JHR’s ascension in the past few seasons. The team has showcased significant growth, and I am eager to contribute my experience as we aim for a strong 2024 season,” the Frenchman outlined.
Grosjean will partner Argentine driver Agustin Canapino, retained by the squad for a second season with JHR in North America’s premier open-wheel series.
The 37-year-old, also an official Factory Driver for Lamborghini, has achieved five runner-up finishes and three pole positions since he moved from Formula 1 to Indycar after nine years competing at the pinnacle of motorsport.
Ricardo Juncos, JHR co-owner and team principal, said: “Romain brings an unparalleled pedigree in motorsports. His leadership and experience are precisely what we need to propel JHR to new heights in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.”
Grosjean set off his inaugural campaign in 2021, driving for Dale Coyne Racing.
As a rookie to the series, his performance impressed the field, securing the pole at the GMR Grand Prix in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway – only his third race in IndyCar – outqualifying two-time IndyCar champion Josef Newgarden.
That same year, he captured three podiums, recording four top-five finishes.
In 2022, he agreed on a multi-year deal with Andretti Autosport, taking over the No. 28 DHL Honda machinery, contesting for the first time the famous Indianapolis 500 on a full schedule.
The partnership was not as successful as expected, parting ways by the end of the 2023 campaign.
The Geneva-born is now ready to start a new career chapter alongside the team that recently appointed Dave Morgan as its new team manager.

The outfit prepares to kick start its 18-round IndyCar campaign on the Streets of St. Petersburg on March 10, 2024.
Earlier in October, JHR revealed its plans to enter a strategic alliance with Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team that will be in effect for 2024.
