Ben Beshore has been announced as John Hunter Nemechek‘s crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series, Legacy Motor Club announced Nov. 13.
Beshore comes to LMC and the No. 42 from Joe Gibbs Racing, where he was Nemechek’s crew chief in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2023.
“I’m excited to join Legacy Motor Club and continue working with John Hunter in the Cup Series – we had so much success last season,” Beshore said in a team release. “I’m looking forward to helping build this program into a perennial contender that can compete at the highest level possible each and every week.”
Added Nemechek, “The partnership between driver and crew chief requires a type of chemistry that is hard to find.” “As a driver, if you’re lucky enough to find a crew chief that you mesh with as well as Ben and I do, you do everything possible to stick together. I look forward to building on our competitive partnership and fighting for more wins and championships.”
Beshore last served as a crew chief in the Cup Series in 2022 for Kyle Busch at JGR, earning one win.
In 2023, Nemechek scored seven wins, 17 top fives and 24 top 10s with Beshore at the helm.
JGR has not announced a replacement for Beshore on the Xfinity level. Luke Lambert, who was the crew chief on the No. 42 in 2023, also has an undetermined role for 2024.
