Late Model Performance Resets Record For Stock Blower LT4 Platform

There’s no shortage of records among the LS and LT community which is understandable considering the various engines and platforms. The micro-record memes and jokes unfortunately come with the territory. However, to hold the record for the quickest quarter-mile pass using an engine combination that comes from the factory in three different vehicle platforms is worthy of praise. Late Model Performance (LMP) in Baltimore, Maryland, has done just that, and now holds the quarter-mile record for the quickest factory blower LT4-powered vehicle in the world.

GM’s powerful supercharged LT4 engine can be found in C7 Z06 Corvettes, 2017 and newer ZL1 Camaros, and the 2016-2019 Cadillac CTS-V. Given the three different platforms, many people would most likely guess that a Corvette holds this particular record, but they would be wrong.  Owner Alec Bledsoe and his team at LMP have been chasing and resetting this record for a couple of years now with his personal sixth-gen ZL1 Camaro.

As a tuner, Bledsoe is no stranger to records and fast passes. He is the man behind the computer for some insanely quick drag cars including the fastest stick-shifted ZR1 Corvette, a record-holding Cadillac CTS-V sedan, a Pro Mod that makes three-second eighth-mile passes, and many others.

Bledsoe has held the stock blower LT4 record in the past but recently reset it by making a pass that is not only quicker than any other Camaro using a stock blower, it is quicker than any other Corvette or Cadillac as well. In 2022, the LMP team recorded time slips of 8.55 seconds, 8.48, and 8.43. Each of these passes were a new best and resets of the record for Bledsoe, his Camaro, and the LMP team.

Not one to sit on past accomplishments, Bledsoe decided to stick around for a day after the conclusion of the 2023 World Cup Finals – Import Vs Domestic event held at Maryland International Raceway. According to the accompanying video, the team felt there was plenty left in the car’s performance and the weather was too perfect to not take the opportunity to turn up the wick and try to lower the record even further.

The decision paid off as Bledsoe was able to reset the record two more times. First running 8.38 seconds and backing that up with a new and current record of 8.26 seconds at 161.42 mph, making Bledsoe’s Camaro the quickest stock blower LT4-powered vehicle of any kind in the quarter mile.
