Formula 1 Pre-Season Testing Technical Gallery

The fleet of 2024 Formula 1 cars burst into life in Bahrain this week as pre-season testing got under way. It gave a chance to take first glances at some of the main technical developments each team made over the winter, building on what they shared (or didn’t) during their respective season launches.

Ferrari has put a lot of effort into rear wing design to try and regain some ground against Red Bull which had optimal DRS
Haas front wing includes a new wavy element on the outside of each endplate
Red Bull set a warning shot to the paddock on the first day of testing, as Max Verstappen went more than a second clear
Testing gave teams the chance to gather airflow data around the car using tiny probes fitted on aero rakes
The Mercedes W15 front wing has been a point of interest. A thin strip of carbon fibre on the upper flap has come under scrutiny for potentially creating a different type of air vortex, but the team assured it liaised with the FIA to get it cleared
