In the round-up: Fernando Alonso owned up to a sub-par performance after finishing ninth in the Miami Grand Prix.

In brief

Alonso’s Miami performance “nothing spectacular”

Alonso salvaged two points from ninth on the grid in Miami, but admitted it was not one of his best weekends.

“We were struggling this weekend,” he told the official F1 channel. “We didn’t find the set-up, we didn’t find the speed, and me personally I was not driving well the whole weekend.

“I was just not extracting the maximum in qualifying or the sprint. Yesterday, also, I didn’t put a perfect lap together.

Stroll queries latest penalty

Lance Stroll was not convinced he deserved a penalty for overtaking Alexander Albon off the track during the Miami Grand Prix. The Aston Martin driver was given a 10-second time penalty for the infringement. “We’ll go through the onboards later, but it feels like a strange penalty,” he said.
