Through the Gears: Sonoma Best Bets

Throughthegearsnonspec

After a heartbreaking loss for us (and Ryan Blaney) last week at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway in the NASCAR Cup Series, I am determined to get us back in to victory lane in this one.

The Martin Truex Jr. betting train may reach its final stop this weekend at Sonoma Raceway. After five consecutive races with Truex as an outright winner on the betting card, he must come through for us in this one as his stats stand out above the rest.

In this episode of Through the Gears, we talk about the drivers at the top of the list and how they stack up in the sportsbooks. From Truex at +1,100 post practice to Michael McDowell +1,500 and Ross Chastain +1,600 to win it, there is a lot of value on the board for some true speed contenders here.

There are some big factors in this race, most of them being about the racetrack itself. There are a new repave, a wall instead of tires in turn 11 and now stage breaks being back at road courses. Will this open things up for a potential underdog winner despite this being a veteran savvy racetrack?

Watch the episode below or tune in wherever you get your podcasts. Credit to Ryan from ifantasyrace.com, or @ifantasyrace on X (formerly Twitter), for providing the Total Speed Rankings Heat Chart for Sonoma that you can see in the video for this week’s episode.
