Kyle Larson Sweeps Stages, Wins Cup Race At Homestead-Miami

Entering Sunday (Oct. 23), Kyle Larson led 330 laps in his eight trips to Homestead-Miami Speedway. In the Dixie Vodka 400, he led 199 of the 267 laps, swept both stages and picked up his third victory of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season. It’s Larson’s 19th career Cup win and the first of his career at the 1.5-mile track in Homestead, Fla.

Ross Chastain finished second after a spirited battle with AJ Allmendinger, who finished third.

Austin Dillon and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Martin Truex Jr. appeared in line to possibly score his first victory of the season before a pit road incident between him and Larson cost him many spots on the restart. Truex drove his No. 19 back up to a sixth-place finish.

Denny Hamlin was the second playoff driver to finish inside the top 10 as he finished seventh.

Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez rounded out the top-10 finishers.

As a result of Larson’s victory, no other playoff drivers clinched a Championship 4 berth. Seven drivers will compete for the final three spots in the penultimate race of the season at Martinsville Speedway. The short track will host the Cup field in the Xfinity 500 on Sunday (Oct. 30) at 3 p.m. ET with TV coverage provided by NBC.
