Choose Your Flavor
First, let’s look at Edelbrock’s EG 350CI SBC. Available in both carbureted and electronic fuel-injected configurations, the EG 350 SBC crate engine offers some impressive specs. 410-plus horsepower with excellent street manners is the promise of the EFI version. Back that up with even 420 lb-ft of torque and you’re looking at plenty of bravado to power through the toughest trails.
Another key feature is the engines are assembled with all-new new parts. That means no remanufactured parts as possible weak links in the power chain. With all this available the age-old question of building from scratch, or a drop-in solution may be a bit easier to answer.
Power Is Good, More Power Is Better
Next up is Edelbrock’s big brother to the 350, the EG 383 SBC. This choice will step you up to 500-plus horsepower with the Pro-Flo 4 EFI version, while still maintaining great drivability. Like all of the EG crate engines, this stroker performance engine is assembled with only new parts and is also available as a carbureted version.
