Thad Moffitt Running Full Truck Schedule for Faction46

#46: Thad Moffitt, Clean Pacs Ford Fusion

Thad Moffitt will contest the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule for newly formed Faction46, the team announced Dec. 9.

Moffitt will drive the No. 46, with Doug George as his crew chief.

Faction46 is owned by Lane Moore, who co-owned ARCA Menards Series team Veer Motorsports in 2023. The new organization has an alliance with Niece Motorsports.

“This is the opportunity that I’ve been waiting for,” Moffitt, grandson of Richard Petty, said in a team release. “I’m thrilled that Lane has put his trust in me to begin this new venture with him in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Faction46. This past year I had a full season the Trans Am Series, but always wanted to have the opportunity to race full-time in NASCAR and begin in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. I’m pretty pumped up about this opportunity.”

“I’ve enjoyed working and getting to know the Petty family and Thad,” Moore added. “It all accumulated to this day and the beginning of Faction46 and what I hope to be a long stay in NASCAR. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series offers some of the best, most exciting racing for both young and seasoned drivers. I’m proud to be part of the series with Thad as we earn the respect of the other teams. I have to thank Niece Motorsports for their assistance in helping us as we grow.”

Moffitt has never run a full Truck schedule, but he’s no stranger to the series. He made four starts in 2022, with a best finish of 18th in his debut at Daytona International Speedway.

The No. 46 was previously fielded by G2G Racing in the Truck Series. The team announced it plans to run new numbers in 2024.
