Todd Moyer SHATTERS Full-Bodied World Records With Stunning 5.14!

Todd Moyer broke a pair of Pro Mod records on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 as he reset the 1/8-mile elapsed time and mph records for a turbocharged Pro Modified machine at Bradenton Motorsports Park with a 3.492 at 231 mph. But he was only getting started as he rolled into the water box on Wednesday, did a burnout, and let his 2014 Camaro rip to a 3.45 e.t. through the 1/8-mile, and record a staggering 5.14 at 273 mph through the 1/4-mile to claim a pair of records for the quickest doorslammer on the planet. By a country mile, no less./

“Turbo” Todd Moyer is part of a group of racers who are testing at Florida’s Bradenton Motorsports Park this week in preparation for the U.S. Street Nationals event to be held this coming weekend, and Florida in January regularly provides great atmospheric conditions and the track surface itself is well-known for it’s top prep.

Moyer’s ride is the same Xtreme Race Cars-updated 2014 Camaro that he drove in 2023 to claim Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association and PDRA records at the end of the season. Carl Stevens and his Xtreme Racing Engines company created the 524 cubic-inch Hemi engine that is equipped with a pair of Precision Turbo and Engine 88mm turbochargers. The wildly-capable powerplant is controlled by a MoTeC M150 Pro Mod ECU package that utilizes a custom firmware tuned by Stevens. And it should come as no surprise that the team is using an M&M Transmission Turbo 400 automatic transmission to deliver the four-digit horsepower to the rear wheels.

On Tuesday, Moyer shut off the Camaro before the 1/4-mile and still trapped a 212.63 mph speed in 5.48 seconds, and during Wednesday’s test session, he cranked out a .924-second 60-foot time, followed by a 3.457-second 1/8-mile time (a record) at 233.92 mph (also a record). He rocketed through the 1/4-mile clocks in 5.144 seconds at 273.44 mph, eclipsing the 5.35 record that Jose Gonzalez just set behind the wheel of Mark Micke’s Pro Mod at Bradenton last November.

Also of note is that Moyer’s parachutes were fully deployed by the time he hit the finish line clocks, so it’s very possible that the turbocharged machine has an even quicker time and faster speed in it, perhaps something in the 5.0 range and in the high 280s speed-wise.
