Dennis Bailey Unhurt In Wild No Prep Crash; Kye Kelley Wins Race

Veteran small-tire outlaw racer Dennis Bailey was unhurt in a wild crash on Saturday while competing at the No-Prep Invasion event at Twin City Raceway in Monroe, Louisiana.

Bailey, who was featured on the Street Outlaws Memphis reality show on Discovery Channel, as well as numerous Street Outlaws spinoff series over the years, was on a solo run in his ProCharger-boosted “Silverback Gorilla” Camaro when he lost control near the finish line — as can be seen on video, the car spun around, got air under its flanks, and lifted off the racing surface, before violently turning end over end and coming to rest upside down in the shutdown area.

“We had a little accident this evening. The car is torn up pretty bad, but we’ll be back,” Bailey said after climbing from the wreckage. “We’re racers, we’re hardcore. The backend just washed out, the air got under it, and it took off like a kite. It’s part of racing, but I’m alright. The car is torn up, but we’ll fix it and be back.”

The once-sparkling Camaro suffered significant damage in the crash, its roof partially torn free, the nose yanked away in the rollover, and the remaining body panels folded and wrinkled.

Kye Kelley, a star of the Street Outlaws franchise and a member of the rival Street Outlaws New Orleans camp, went on to win the event on Saturday evening, defeating Brent Self, who was also a victim of the tricky surface at Twin City, as his Camaro got loose and struck the retaining wall in the finale.
